I started teaching in the early 1990s when the Internet was in its infancy, personal computing was virtually nonexistent and education was text book and teacher focused. It has been amazing to see the changes that have occurred so far in the profession which is now becoming dominated by information technology and a considerably more student focused approach.

It has been a privilege to be an early adopter of technology in education and give my students in Melbourne a chance to have a voice through many creative digital solutions. Since 2013, as Adobe’s Senior Education Specialist for Asia Pacific, I am very privileged to work with students and teachers all over the world to help them enhance their communication skills and construct their learning.

I believe the essence of being an effective 21st century teacher is to:
1) Listen to & respect your students (give them a voice);
2) Engage your students and encourage them to have a positive mindset;
3) Facilitate a culture of creativity and success in the classroom; and
4) Foster lifelong learning, hard fun, resilience, passion and 21st century communication skills

My passion, and the mission of Adobe in Education, is to inspire and empower the next generation to be lifelong creators.
