I teach in the United States, in a small town in Georgia. I’ve taught regular education and special education, to students from three years old all the way up to age 21. Fun has been a consistent component of our class, no matter the age or other demographic. My students have definitely learned best when we had fun. So, I’m happy to infuse MY love of fun and play into the classroom. Happy teachers must have happier classes! A few years ago I was at Disney World’s Epcot theme park and had a magical moment that I’ll never forget. I was paying for my treasures in one of the gift shops. The senior adult working the cash register said, “You are a teacher, aren’t you?” I looked around to see if my school badge was in view or some other item that would show I worked at a school. Nothing. I said, “Yes, how did you know?” He said, “I can see it on your face. You must be a nice teacher.” I thanked him for telling me that and I said that I loved teaching very much. I have to say, that was a pretty special moment for me. I hope your love of teaching shows on your face, too!
