It is such an exciting time to be in the profession due to the advancements and accessibility of technology. Educators have the opportunity to create learning environments transformed by technology that nurture creativity, involve children in their own learning, and encourages them to support each other in positive ways. Having taught within the IB Primary Years Programme framework, both inquiry and the child’s voice are at the core of my practice. Connected educators facilitate authentic and purposeful use of technology which allows students to participate in learning that is personally significant and contribute to a world that is saturated with information, images and sound. I strongly believe that inspired teachers that are willing to make mistakes, learn from others and experiment with the use of technology will discover new and powerful ways to cater to and support the children in their classes. This redefinition of education and learning is engaging, collaborative and personalised.
